Victoria in Cabo – 2012
Earlier this year the Victoria crew crusied on down to Cabo San Lucas Mexico for the Cabo Clasico. While preparing for the contest the boys had some “fun in the sun” south of the border. Check out the video below and enjoy the Vic team!
Victoria Video Edits
Previous shop employee David Kushner is just about to begin his school year at LMU. Before the bags were packed for school he was able to get down to the beach, gather some footage of some of the Vic riders and shop employees, and put together a few edits. Check those edits out below and if you like David’s style, you can see more of his work at MouseInTheHaus. Thanks David!!
Mark Mills takes the SkimUSA title on the Mark II
Post from Tex Haines…….
Mark Mills wins the Skim USA title in his age group, (Legends!) and wins the Dewey Contest. Way to go Mark! You the Man! Announcers Ed Hayden and Brice Roughton gave the Mark II Model a lot of props during the contests, thank you guys, we needed that. It’s a great board designed specifically for the small wave, flat beach conditions so prevalent on the East Coast and a lot of other skim areas in general. A little extra buoyancy combined with a full nosed shape and voila, a bit more lift and drive off the crests, and a lot more fun! Second Place went to Pete (Polar Bear) Rash, also of Virginia Beach. These two guys are the original pioneers of the sport on the East Coast, skimming out of the “box” under the VA Pier, and into a small sand point ( and peeling wave) left by the currents on the downstream side of the pier. Film at 11 Senior skimmers plane on as role models, and as symbols of hope to all those that want to keep skimming into their later years. It can be done.
Matthieu Mini Movie
Shop employee David Kushner followed team rider Matthieu Thibaud down to the beach for two days and here is what they came up with. Enjoy the video here, on Matthieu’s Blog, and like it on our Facebook page.
Skim Camp Edit
The Vic Skim Camps began in July 2012 and are continuing through the end of summer. During the latest camp (July 23-27) one of the fellow campers created a little edit for us. Camper Sam Dameshek put the footage together all on his own in hopes that we might like it. Thanks a ton Sam, we are stoked on the edit and glad to have had you in the camp! Keep doing what you are doing.
