Small swell, but some fun ones came through, and the weather was very nice for our weekly Saturday Session. Every Saturday Professionals, Amateurs, beginners, photographers and spectators meet for a fun Skimboarding session. We post on our Facebook page and instagram the day before on where and when to meet. We hope to see you there soon 🙂

The swell dropped a lot more than expected overnight. It was hard to find some waves for the competitors, but the decision was made to have the contest by the rocks at Solmar all the way to the finals. Some recorded heats are available on our Facebook page if you want to check it out! Teddy made it to the man on man final with Sam Stinnett and our rider Tule from Melaque made top 4! Full results tonight at Fishermans on the Marina.

Round 2 today at Solmar! Clean conditions in the morning and the wind picked up, but it was still very decent. We were able to live stream few heats on our Facebook page and will try to do so for the final day as well. So stay tuned for live action 🙂
Final day tomorrow!

Sign ups for the 2016 Cabo Clásico were last night at Fisherman’s, it was good to see everyone and hang out! We went to bed after that to get up at 6.30 am. We were at Lovers Beach at 9am after taking a Taxi Boat that the organizers arranged to be free for the contestants! Glassy beautiful conditions when we arrived, the first round of the Pros started not too long after. Lots of good rides, unfortunately Scott Flores after a really good backside hit his board pretty hard with his knee. It was scary to see him stay down after that wave in the wet sand, but everyone rushed to help him out and it turns out that he was hurt but nothing seemed broken or torn. We wish him a speedy recovery. Gerardo Valencia pulled in the biggest wave of the day. The beach went crazy!!! Round 2 will resume tomorrow with man on man heats, possibly at Solmar, or at Lovers again… We will keep you posted!
More pictures to come 🙂

Tex picked us up in the morning and dropped us off at the airport, few hours later we are riding dream waves in a dreamy place! Here are few shots form tonight, more to come tomorrow for sure!

Really fun conditions for this Saturday Session. Solid consistent swell the past couple of weeks exhausted most of the skimboarders! Not that many people out but we were very happy to see Larry Allen ride! Tex joined him for a Saturday Session Special Legend Edition!

It was an interesting two days at the Oktoberfest by Exile Skimboards. Nothing on Saturday but small wind waves, but the threat of rain on Sunday evaporated and left some pretty nice wind waves.
All in all I felt our team skimmed at least as well as anybody out there. Standouts were Johnny Salta all but beating a very late Bullo. Waiting 10 or 15 minutes for Bullo to show up was very questionable, and what the judges decided about it was a surprise. Tim Gamboa likewise gave Sam Stinnett a serious run for his money, and showed a lot of poise under that kind of pressure. Steph likewise went toe to toe with Keiao Bucasas and held her own under the stress. Nathan Flanigan also could have easily won his final, but came in a close second. High fives also to the utes, Zach van Meter, and Jude Young, they were charging too. Congratulations to everyone who competed. It was a lot of fun to see that high level of riding, and that can do spirit in the face of lousy conditions and steep competition. Thank you Exile for putting on a contest.
