Skimboard Theft

A message from Tex Haines, owner of Victoria Skimboards —–

Reward: $200 for information leading to the thief of this board. He posed as a photographer, was spotted walking off with the board, brought it back, and then took it again when no one was looking. Someone has been stealing boards from Laguna for 15 years at least. They are not from around here, perhaps from the Malibu, or Santa Cruz areas. This board will be very hard to disguise, as it is bright yellow with an unusual logo. This person has probably done this many times before. Ask yourself, who is it, in your area who always seems to have nice used boards for sale at a bargain price? Let’s get this guy. Oliver is the younger brother of Pro skimboarder Brandon Rothe. Stealing a kid’s prized possession, many times off the beach, sometimes following them home and taking it from their garage or porch is the the lowest of the low. Usually a thief will spray paint over a board, which chips off noticeably and usually marks a board as having suspect ownership history.

Be on the look out. Laguna is losing a dozen boards a year to this KOOK.

WCS results update

In efforts to get to the results at the beach as quickly as possible, the staff at Victoria Skimboards made a computation error with the Professional Men’s results. After double and triple checking the scores, it seems that 6th and 7th place were mixed up. This means that Bill Bryan received a 6th place finish and Paulo Prietto a 7th place finish.

Victoria Skimboards apologizes for any confusion this may have caused and has made efforts to ensure that this does not happen again. Thank you for your understanding.
