Victoria Skimboards – WCS

The 2012 Victoria Skimboards World Championship of Skimboarding is just around the corner and we would like to hear from you on a few different aspects of the contest.

First up is the debate on the number of waves that are counted toward a rider’s final score in an individual heat.  If you visit the Victoria Skimboards Facebook Page you can select your answer.

We are always striving to make the event the best we can for the riders and spectators alike and thank you in advance for your participation. Thanks.

A gloomy day at Aliso?

The weather may have been gloomy but the waves were not. Check out a few members of the Victoria Skimboards team pushing through the gray to find some solid wraps on the northern side of Aliso this last January.

Special thanks to Tony Bianchi for filming and editing the piece. Enjoy!

Our friend Patrick in Germany has a Blog and recently he used his new Victoria board to demonstrate how to put on traction. Check out his Blog at http://www.inlandskimgermany.de/2011/11/waveskim-how-to-do-traction-pad-on-the-board/

Times in Germany are cold but Patrick and his crew brave the harsh weather for some good Flatland, Ocean, and Kite skimboarding. More power to you!

Hobie retail mural in Laguna Beach

“A Day In The Life Laguna Beach” is a public art project that master sculptor Randy Morgan has envisioned and is to be gifted to the community. It is a bronze bas-relief sculptured mural 40 feet by 12 feet in the classic old world style. Randy’s vision for this piece pays tribute and homage to the rich ocean heritage and waterman culture pf Laguna Beach.

The finished piece will be placed on the Hobie building in downtown Laguna Beach. The art has been approved and accepted by the city of Laguna Beach and will be presented in April 2012. To see Tex Haines involvement in the project, check out the website @ http://adayinthelifelagunabeach.com/
