Write a note to Victoria’s long time engineer Bob Phillips awaiting heart transplant

If you ever stopped at Victoria Skimboards, to pick up a board, drop off a surfboard repair, or just check the shop out, you probably have seen Bob Phillips. One sure thing is, that if you own a Victoria Skimboard, any model, from pretty much any year, Bob has had his hands on it at one point of time, and drove it from the San Clemente factory to the Laguna Beach shop. He has also always put a lot of effort in setting up the VIC contest site early morning every year. He is a very talented mechanical engineer, one of a kind! The list of things he has brought to Victoria Skimboards is very long…

Bob has had some heart issues lately, and this morning we heard that the surgery is not an option anymore, and that he is on the list for a heart transplant. He doesn’t have facebook, or even an email address, but we do! So if you have ever met Bob, or not, you can leave him a message below in the facebook comment box, and we will print and make sure he gets all the notes at the hospital in LA, next time Victoria owner Tex Haines goes up to visit him.

Giant Seal Beach with the boys

A good size West swell hit Southern California this week. The Victoria team decided to get up early and ride giant shorebreak up in Seal Beach, CA. There was incredible bowls, very powerful on the sets and the boys charged it. Tex Haines even said he rarely seen Seal Beach like this before. We are really stoked on the great group we have going on right now. It’s always a blast to go out ride together…

Saturday Session // 1 18 14 // West Street

Good swell arrived, Tex called it, so he scheduled the Saturday Session later than usually, 2.30 pm at West Street. Erin Carpenter, Wyatt Colen, Max Bourne, Matthieu Thibaud, Jared Green and many more were present and had another great Saturday Session as you can tell by the pictures taken by Carly Haines, Fabiana Badie and Tex Haines.

2014 Matthieu Thibaud Pro Model

Matthieu Thibaud has been riding his new pro model for few months now. You can find all the specs on the Matthieu Thibaud Pro Model page. It is also available to purchase online here. New in 2014 is the full sanded matte finish deck for better grip of the pads and wax, and just a simple handmade signature leaving plenty of room to customize it with paint, poska pens or stickers! Saturday Session // 1 4 14 // Aliso

Big high tide in the morning, so the Saturday started at 2 pm at Aliso with Tex Haines, Matthieu Thibaud and Zac Henderson with his family. We started on the North end, but the creek broke after only few nice rides, so we moved to the South end of the Beach. Very inconsistent, but the sets were decent, and even some Siders came through. No wind, really glassy, really fun session overall for January!
