Mark Mills wins OBX Skim Jam

The 2015 OBX Skim Jam was a success with a 1st place finish. The conditions were small and glassy but fun to ride. Harry Wilson and Brice Roughton stepped it up in the Legends group and decided to run our heats at high tide and let the top pros judge our heats. The conditions were tricky since the waves did not offer much power and the soft sand we had to run on made it that much more of a challenge. I have to say the Sr. Grandmasters division gave it all they got during the contest…everyone put a lot of heart into their heats skimming which made for an exciting event. Thank you Victoria Skimboards and Skim USA for all you do for the skimboarding community! Always a Vic for me!

My Trip To The Boardwalk Blow Up Contest

I arrived to nice clean conditions that allowed me to try out my new custom Vic skimboard.  It was a lot of fun!  The weather for the 2 days of the contest was windy so I had to compete with one of my favorite boards, the fish.  I moved up to the boys division this year so that means there were more competitors so more heats.  I won 2nd place in the finals against some tough competitors and tough conditions. So I was pretty happy I did well for not being on a skimboard in many months.

I met up with Victoria teammate Troy Rhoten from FL who skimmed awesomely to get 4th place in the Pros division!

It was great to hangout with friends I haven’t seen since the summer and get away from the cold of NJ.  I also got to meet up and spend some time with my Aunt and Uncle who live in FL who came to watch.  A big thanks to Skim USA and Skim City for a great contest, Victoria Skimboards for my awesome boards and my parents for taking me.
