Christopher Allwine is a young talented fine art photographer who contacted us with the craziest idea in mind. We loved the project and the idea and have been collaborating with Chris for few months now. From the first tests, to the first actual pictures, it has been a challenging one. Riding in the dark with a glowing skimboard isn’t easy, and long exposure photographt with another person dedicated to flash the scene at the best moment is an interesting challenge to say the least. It takes practice and dedication, but we are now pretty confident that we are getting closer to the final goal!

Christopher will make big prints and expose his best shots at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts this Summer. You can find all the information on his fine art photography on his website:

Saturday Session 3-26-16 at Thousand Steps

Spring is here! Beautiful weather, decent waves, clear water and no wind at Thousand Steps (9th Street), the Saturday Session was once again a lot of fun! Everyone is welcome to join the fun!

Melaque Adventures

Saturday Session 2-6-16 at Thousand Steps

El Nino has been battering Northern California and we have been reaping the rewards. With half the state seeing huge swell and weather with it, we have been enjoying slightly smaller swells with perfect weather, some would say hot, in the middle of winter. This last Saturday the crew packed it down to ninth street in South Laguna to enjoy a Saturday morning that was on par with the dog days of summer. Although the waves weren’t “quote unquote” firing, we had a blast enjoying the conditions on hand. The sider that shows up only on the rarest occasions had moments of brilliance as Teddy Vlasis, Johnny Salta, and Paddy Mack connected a few fun ones. Joe Baily, resident badass photog, was in the water shooting the boys and got a few good ones that have been circulating social media. With the forecast calling for more hot weather and waves, the skim community in Laguna is frothing to get a couple epic sessions in before El Nino makes its way down the coast.

Saturday Session 1-23-16 in Seal Beach, CA

The forecast looked great, so we decided to have the Saturday Session in Seal Beach at 8AM. Tex brought hot coffee and Donuts for everyone, and the conditions were really good. Diana Rosa, Johnny Atoe, Paddy Mack, Jared Green, Brad Dickey, Johnny Salta, Ryan Ward, Connor Brashier and many more were present and had a blast.
