I am riding a Woody right now, but can never get out far enough to get onto a wave. How well does the Ultra float in deeper water and is it good for riding waves?

    • Matthieu

Compared to the Woody, the difference in float-ability is huge! Very good to ride waves, perfect transition after the Woody!

  2. Colten

Hi I’m wondering which board is best for sand skimming.

    • Matthieu

The Ultra would be great 🙂

  3. Lew Manning

i was wondering if the Ultra is a good choice to get out far and catch waves and what traction pad company wood you recommend

    • Matthieu

Yeah the Ultra is a great board to ride waves, we have our own traction, I dunno which other brand to recommend for you! They all work pretty good

Hi Guys, i was just wondering if you ship boards to Australia and what the cost would be for that shipment.

    • Matthieu

You can put the items you would like in your cart, and see how much shipping cost right there on the cart page, there s a shipping calculator 🙂

  5. Tommy

I’m from Washington here in the PNW. From age 18 – 22 I did a fair amount of skimming in the Strait of Juan De Fuca, some waves, but incredible sandy areas for low tides. I used a wood sand skimmer on and off for those four years and got balance down pretty good, but it would sink on me every time I tried to go out deeper.

I’m 26 now haven’t been out in a while, but want to get serious again. Still in good athletic shape to get speed on the run up and weight just under 180 lbs. Trying to decide between the Ultra and big foot. I love sand skimming on low tides, but want to start heading out on the ocean waves and at least do jumps off them, if not start catching them. For a 26 year old at 180 lbs with intermediate experience what would you recommend?

    • Matthieu

Hi Tommy! You could go either for an Ultra L or Bigfoot. Ultra will give you more maneuverability and the bigfoot more float… Both would work perfectly for you though. Depending what you prefer 🙂

    thanks for your answer!
unfortunately, the shipping on your site doubles the board price .. 🙁
I look in a lot of e-shops and I found your boards on ebay, with minimal transportation costs, but only the groomet L (not the Ultra).. I don’t know, if you said these are for teenagers, probably I will not buy it…

Hello! I am a man 182 cm tall and 77 kg. I learned to stay on a skimboard without tricks for now, I need some advice regarding the board matches the following style: I prefer the water lines from the shore to the sea, possibly by a wave that can jump on or do some tricks in future. Of course, I suspect that a board that goes very well out to sea, is somewhat at least good for a line on the beach also (on a film of water) So, I would really appreciate your advice :). The Groomet is good or I have to go for Ultra? I like a little compact size, but without sacrificing the line, of course ..
Where can I buy for delivery in Romania.
    Many thanks!

    • Matthieu

      Hi Razvan,
The Grommet is more designed for kids and teenagers, for you I recommend the Ultra! It is gonna be everything you need and want! A Medium if you like more maneuverability or a Large if you want a bit more float.
Best way to get the board to you would be to buy here on our online, and we ll ship it to you.
      Thank you!

What is the best way to clean the surface of the board to apply traction? Also, do you need to sand it down first, if so what grit of sand-paper?

    • admin

Hi Stephan, a strong degreaser (from Lowe’s, staples, home depot…) or Acetone cleans perfectly a board before applying traction. 40 or 60 grit works to scratch the surface of the board and increase the surface of contact for the traction glue. Make sure you clean perfectly the surface AFTER sanding too.
      Thanks 🙂

I was wondering what’s the difference between a gourmet and a ultra

    • admin

The sizes and the shape. The Grommet is designed for Children and Teenagers, and the Ultra for adults.

      Thank you,

Every Ultra I have ever ridden had been a complete shred stick. Great light weight to slide out to your perfect wave. The Ultra is great for groms all the way up to grandmasters!
